Pragmata Institute has been chosen as Official Advisor for International Relations of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Last 19th August, Pragmata Institute signed an agreement with the Republic of Kazakhstan according to which Pragmata Institute has been appointed Official Advisor of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Relations with the European Union. In particular, Pragmata Institute's assignment will consists in developing a strategic process with the aim to obtain a better positioning of Kazakhstan Republic in front of European Institutions, European Countries and international stakeholders at public and private level. The ultimate goal of this activities will be of improving the Country perception among European Institutions and  other important stakeholders. The operative phase of this agreement is going to start: in fact from 8th to 11th September Pragmata Institute staff will have a series of meeting in Astana with the main Institutions of Kazakhstan, in order to adopt a strategy that will assure to reach a better positioning of Kazakhstan in front of the European Institutions and Countries.

Mr. Piero Scarpellini appointed member of the International Monitoring Committee for the Implementation of the Acts of the Rimini Conference of the Lake Chad Basin Commission

Last 27th July, Mr. Piero Scarpellini, Director of Pragmata Institute, has been appointed member of International Monitoring Committee for the Implementation of the Acts of the Rimini Conference of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, held last 4th and 5th April 2014 in Bologna and Rimini (Italy). The mission of the Committee is to ensure the execution of the statements of the technical and funding partners present during the Rimini Conference.
The main responsibilities of the Committee are:
- to advocate in order to mobilize local and international resources for implementing the Five-Year Investment Plan (2013-2017) of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC);

Pragmata Institute met Mr. Samir Kheldouni, CEO Chorus Consulting

Last 23rd July Pragmata Institute staff met in Venice Mr. Samir Kheldouni, CEO of Chorus Consulting in order to evaluate a possible collaboration for the near future. Mr. Kheldouni, CEO of Chorus Consulting, has been previously CEO of the Moroccan National Office of Tourism, and CEO of the General Society of Tourist Development, SOGATOUR, a subsidiary of Caisse de Depot et de Gestion. He was also Founding President of the Regional Council of Tourism in Rabat.

Pragmata Institute meets ACP Secretary General

Last 26th June Mr. Piero Scarpellini, Director Pragmata Institute, together with Ms. Claudia Mularoni, CEO Pragmata Institute, has met in Brussels Mr. Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni, Secretary General of the the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP). The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) is an organisation created by the Georgetown Agreement in 1975. It is composed of 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific states, with all of them, save Cuba, signatories to the Cotonou Agreement, also known as the "ACP-EC Partnership Agreement" which binds them to the European Union. There are 48 countries from Sub-Saharan Africa, 16 from the Caribbean and 15 from the Pacific.

African Aviation Summit 2014 (9th-11th June 2014)

In the occasion of the 23rd "African Aviation Summit" held in Addis Ababa last 9th -11th June 2014, Mr. Piero Scarpellini, Director of Pragmata Institute, took part to such initiative as Founder member of the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) togheter with Mr. Tarek Ragheb, Chairman of the African Business Aviation Association, and with Madame Hind El Achchabi, Chair of AfBAA's International Relations Committee. Pragmata Institute, being the Advisor of the African Union for the International relations, organized an institutional meeting between AfBAA representatives and Dr. Elham Mahoud Ahmed Ibrahim, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Aviation of the African Union (AU). In addition Pragmata Institute organized a meeting between AfBAA representatives and His Excellency Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, at his private residence.

Pragmata Institute's articles will be pubblished on International Affairs

During their visit in Moscow, in order to take part as speakers to the 13th Conference of Africanists, organized by the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ms. Claudia Mularoni, CEO Pragmata Institute, and Mr. Piero Scarpellini, Director of Pragmata Institute, met also Dr. Armen Oganeysian, Editor in Chief of International Affairs, which is a leading foreign politics monthly with wide audiences in Russia and other countries. During the meeting has been decided that International Affairs will pubblish two articles written by Pragmata Institute: the first article will be pubblished on the August issue of the journal and it will analyze the role of the Microstates and Small States within the International Community; the second one will be published on the September issue of the journal and it will focus on the Republic of San Marino, in particular on its role at international level. Pragmata Institute invited to attend as a speaker to the 13th International Conference of Africanists organized by the Institute of African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences

From 27th until 30th May 2014, Mr. Piero Scarpellini, General Director Pragmata Institute, and Ms. Claudia Mularoni, CEO Pragmata Institute, attended as speakers to the 13th International Conference of Africanists titled “Society and Politics in Africa: Traditional, Transitional, and New”. The Conference has been held in Moscow, Russia, on May 27-30, 2014 and it has been organized by the Institute for African Studies. The Institute for African Studies (IAS) - is a research body incorporated in and funded by the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).  The Institute was founded in October 1959. Over the past 50 years, the Institute has been conducting research on historical, socio-economic, ethno-cultural and political problems of all independent African nations that emerged on the continent following the collapse of the colonial system. This collapse had led to the formation of a research field for the development of Soviet-African, and later Russian-African relations. The IAS is the key institution for the activities of the Academy Research Council for the Problems of Africa under the Department for Global Problems and International Relations of Russian Academy of Sciences.

Ms. Mularoni and Mr. Scarpellini took part as speakers in the panel of the Conference titled “Africa and the EU: Past, Present, Future”; during their speech Ms. Mularoni and Mr. Scarpellini presented their paper titled “EU Procedures related to Africa support programs: a transparency tool or an incomprehensible barrier?”
